Freddie Mercury Tribute

I have created here a fan based t-shirt as an experiment into lo-fi techniques. I used a photograph from google to which I edited through Photoshop and subsequently printed out. Pasted onto card, and cut out, made the stencil. I used enamel paint on later editions, which tend to last longer on the clothing than regular spray paint.

Hospital Illustrations

This Major Negotiated Project focus was upon the inner workings and the behind the scenes of a hospital. Glenfield Hospital in Leicester kindly allowed me access to the areas to which I illustrated.

The images were drawn using a mechanical pencil with a 0.5m lead, and usually onto an A2 size sketchpad. I take great pride in illustrating in great detail, and doing this takes great patience. This image took 2 to 3 hours to complete, the commitment is evident in the detail. I have learned to work comfortably in large scale, with A1 being my next step in creating such detailed and idiosyncratic illustration, all that needs to be decided is the subject matter.

My method of working is to take time and focus into each subject I approach and illustrate.

I seek to further develop my technique and levels of detail, taking into consideration more so of line intensity and perspective form.

Also, these images were scanned using a high quality professional scanner, at some cost, and to allow them to be uploaded to this website I actually had to reduce the file sizes from 20MB to under 8MB, which will compromise quality, but I hope this does not affect the overall impression of the illustrations you are viewing.
